SthaNiK (স্থাপত্য নির্মাণ কর্ম) was formed in 2008 as a research oriented studio to incorporate old-school design procedures and construction techniques with contemporary design processes. Venturing towards a connectivity of the regional practice of design and construction with the global perspective, the studio aims at redefining the constraints from the context with continuous feed-back from the surrounding information wave. The design ideology is always leaning towards a marriage of narrative compulsive ‘artistic infatuation’ with the analytic derivation of geometry and material formation. The firm participated in many architectural competitions and has been awarded in some major competitions including 1st prize in ‘Holcim Green Built Bangladesh’, idea project category; 2nd prize in Gulshan Club, 3rd prize in Liberation War Museum, Bangladesh. STHANIK received IAB Design Award 2018, the most prestigious architectural design award of the country, for designing public place.
